The pedestrian struck by a vehicle around 8:49 last night (March 8th) in Destin has been identified as 37-year old Eric Walter Vega of Destin. Vega was struck by a vehicle in the eastbound lane of Highway 98 and Henderson Beach Road and was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the vehicle was not injured.
The Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the cause of the crash and additional details will be released at a later time.
