WEAPONS ROBBERY LEADS TO ARRESTS

Two Crestview residents are currently in the Okaloosa County Department of Corrections, charged with armed burglary after stealing cash and weapons from a home in the Fort Walton Beach area Sunday afternoon.  Deputies from the Okaloosa County Sheriff's Office were called to 449 Waterway Lane around 2:30 p.m. Sunday. A resident there says five people he'd invited into the house later forced him into his father's bedroom and stole cash, two semi-automatic rifles, a 12 gauge shotgun, and a .22 caliber  rifle before fleeing the home.

Troopers with the Florida Highway Patrol spotted the suspects' getaway car on P-J Adams Road near Crestview and made a traffic stop on Villacrest Drive, assisted by officers from the Crestview Police Department.  Inside the vehicle's trunk, they found the stolen weapons wrapped in a blanket.

The Sheriff's Office has charged 20-year old Stephon Letray Thrash of 163 Conquest Avenue and 21-year old  Amos Clifton Clayborne of 454 Jillian Drive with armed burglary, grand theft firearm, and grand theft.

Similar charges are also pending against three co-defendants.
