SCAM ARTISTS ASKING FOR CASH
The Okaloosa County Sheriff's Office has been
receiving complaints of an apparent scam circulating in the south end of the
county. Citizens report being asked for money by individuals who claim they've
been locked out of their cars. The scammers say locksmiths they've contacted are
demanding cash up front to unlock the vehicles, and they have no money on hand
to pay them.
So far,
residents have been approached in several church parking lots in Destin and at
businesses on Beal Parkway.
The
Sheriff's Office asks that you report any suspicious activity by calling
850-651-7400 or 689-5705.
