INDOOR MARIJUANA GROW OPERATION IN DESTIN

The Okaloosa County Multi-Agency Drug Task Force (DTF) executed an afternoon narcotics search warrant in the Destin neighborhood of Indian Bayou this afternoon (Tuesday).  Investigators obtained a search warrant for 28 Country Club Dr. East.  There, they uncovered an indoor marijuana grow operation.

Investigators from the Sheriff’s Office and the Florida Department of Law Enforcement discovered that Suspect/ George Harold Ward Jr (DOB 09-30-1950 of 28 Country Club) converted on interior part of his residence into a grow facility.  The room had special modifications to promote plant growth without sunlight.  Over 40 mature high-grade marijuana plants were seized with a street value of approximately $ 43,000.00

Ward was arrested and charged with Cultivation of Marijuana.

Okaloosa County Sheriff Charlie Morris says indoor marijuana cultivation is becoming more prevalent in Florida, but law enforcement is committed to seeking out and arresting drug law violators.
