OCSO FIREARM SAFETY COURSE APPLICATION
SUCCESSFUL COMPLETION OF THIS COURSE CAN BE USED WHEN APPLYING FOR A "CONCEALED WEAPONS PERMIT". EACH STUDENT MUST PROVIDE THEIR OWN FIREARM & AMMUNITION.
The Okaloosa County Sheriff's Office is offering women ages 18 and
older an opportunity to take firearms safety classes overseen by trained law
enforcement officers.
The first class in the two-part course will take place Thursday, January
10th from 6 to 10 p.m. at the Sheriff's Administration Building, 50
2nd Street in Shalimar. The second class will take place Saturday,
January 12th from nine a.m. to five p.m. at the Sheriff's Office
shooting range in Crestview.
The first class involves discussions on firearms safety, range safety
procedures, and legal issues, as well as actual weapon inspections. The second
class involves target shooting at the law enforcement range.
You must attend both classes to receive a certificate issued by the
Okaloosa County Sheriff's Office and National Rifle Association.

Class size will be limited to the first 30 applicants.
An additional class for both men and women will be offered January 24 and
26th.
