ARMED ROBBERY SUSPECT NABBED IN CRESTVIEW

     A Crestview man suspected of an armed robbery in Covington County Alabama early Friday morning is now in custody. 22-year old Johnny Harold King was apprehended by the Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office and Crestview Police Department after a pursuit by Covington County deputies along back roads in North Okaloosa County and parts of Walton County . At least five Okaloosa deputies aided in the search, along with the Crestview Police Department, Walton County Sheriff’s Office and Florida Highway Patrol.

     Laurel Hill School was in lockdown for about an hour due to reports King was driving around nearby. He was eventually tracked down to 101 Lakeview Drive in Crestview around 11:15 a.m.. Officers surrounded the house, knocked on the door, and when a resident answered, they found King asleep inside. He was taken into custody without incident.

      Charges are pending in Covington County . King is also wanted on violation of probation warrants and a grand theft auto charge in Okaloosa County , as well as for grand theft of a vehicle in Crestview. A pick-up truck King is accused of stealing Thursday night in Crestview has been recovered.
