TAKE THE FAMILY DAY PLEDGE!

It’s such a simple thing – but it can pay big dividends. The more often kids and teens eat dinner with their fa mil ies, the less likely they are to smoke, drink, and use drugs. Add to that they also get better grades, have lower levels of stress at home, and are at lower risk of thoughts of suicide.

That’s just a few of the many great reasons that the Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office and Okaloosa chapter of the “Coalition of a Drug-Free America” are encouraging local residents to take part in Fa mil y Day on Monday, September 25th. It’s as simple as sitting down together for your evening meal.  Although every day should be Fa mil y Day, this is a national effort to promote fa mil y dinners as an effective tool for reducing substance abuse among children and teens.
