COLD CASE SOLVED WITH CONFESSION

Investigators with the Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office believe a ten-year old murder case has been solved with the sudden confession of a former Shalimar resident.

Ronald Lee Hill, DOB 11-15-55, says he’s responsible for the beating death of Wayne Douglas Reynolds in January 1996. Reynolds died from fatal blows to the head.   Investigators believe the drug-related killing at Hill’s Fort Walton Beach residence  ( 308-C South Avenue )  took place sometime between 3 a.m. on January 2, 1996 and 9 a.m. January 4th. Hill had been questioned by the Okaloosa Sheriff’s Office on January 6, 1996.

Hill recently relocated from 34 Shalimar Drive to Sedalia Missouri , where he confessed Thursday at the Pettis County Sheriff’s Office.

Okaloosa Sheriff’s Office investigators flew to Sedalia Friday morning to interview Hill. They say he has waived extradition and will be returning with them to Okaloosa County , where he faces an open count of murder.
