SECOND HOME INVASION ROBBERY ARREST

The Okaloosa County Sheriff ’s Office has arrested a second suspect in connection with an armed home invasion robbery in the Fort Walton Beach area December 13th. 24-year old Bernard Riley, Jr. was arrested Friday, January 6th, on charges of being an armed principal to home invasion robbery, a principal to aggravated assault, and a principal to grand theft.

Investigators also arrested 26-year old William George Smolar last month, and are currently searching for a third suspect as well.

Riley and Smolar are charged with going into a home at 792-D Navy Street to steal money. Riley is accused of driving to and from the home for the robbery, and providing the .22 automatic pistol that Smolar allegedly held to the resident’s head.

Anyone with information on the third suspect, described as a light-skinned black male with short dreadlocks, standing about five-feet-ten to six-feet-two inches tall, is asked to call Emerald Coast Crime Stoppers at 850-863-TIPS or the Criminal Investigations Division at 850-609-2000.
