The Okaloosa Sheriff’s Office is asking for the public’s help in trying to track down a suspect in an attempted kidnapping in the Niceville area.

A 13-year old girl reports she was walking down 23rd  Street Tuesday evening, when a man driving a white,  rental-style truck stopped and offered her a ride home.  The girl refused, but says the man circled back around. He got out of the truck, grabbed her, and tried to pull her inside the vehicle.  The teen was able to pull away and escape.

She describes the attempted kidnapper as a Hispanic male in his twenties, who is about 5’6”, with short black hair.  The man was wearing a white polo shirt, dark jeans, and dirty white tennis shoes.

Anyone with  information regarding the suspect or any similar incidents, is asked to please contact the Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigations Division at (850) 609-2000 or Emerald Coast Crime Stoppers at 863-TIPS.
