During the year 2003, Okaloosa Sheriff's Deputies responded to an average of one call for assistance or other incident every three minutes, 21 seconds. The total call volume for the year of 156,631 was an increase of more than eight percent over 2002.

Deputies logged a total of 24,772 traffic stops during the year, and 18,421 other traffic-related incidents. Traffic-related activity accounted for more than 27-percent of the 156,631 calls during the year.

The most common incidents handled by Deputies, with activity totals for the year:

assistance to citizens = 9,260

serving or attempting to serve criminal warrants = 7,806

theft = 7,088

responding to false alarms = 6,986

security checks of homes/businesses & other property = 5,664

verifying 911 calls = 4,869

non-domestic fights & disturbances = 4,733

investigating suspicious persons/vehicles/activity = 4,615

serving or attempting to serve subpoenas & injunctions = 3,553

assistance to other agencies = 3,137

noise/loud music complaints = 2,704

transporting prisoners = 2,500

criminal mischief (vandalism) = 2,017

trespassing = 1,774

welfare checks (of individuals) = 1,689

burglaries = 1,612

harassment/stalking & harassing telephone calls = 1,601

school zone details = 1,519

domestic violence, custody disputes & injunction violations = 1,452
