Two suspects
are in custody after delivering one-half kilo of cocaine to a buyer in
Niceville. The Okaloosa County Multi-Agency Drug Task Force arrested Steven
Michael Sachs (pictured left), age
37 (1-22-1967); and Juan Armando Alvarez (pictured
right), age 41 (10-27-1963), both of Miami, at a convenience store in
Niceville Sunday evening (December 5).
A
ten-month investigation led to a promised sale of one-half kilo of cocaine in
powder form for $14,000.
The prospective buyer was a confidential source co-operating with the Drug Task
Force.
The
transaction was effected Sunday evening, under surveillance, at a convenience
store on Highway 85 in Niceville.
Sachs and Alvarez were
arrested the scene, and are held in the Okaloosa County Jail in Crestview under
bonds of one half million dollars each. The recorded drug buy money and more
powder cocaine was recovered with the arrest.
The Drug Task Force consists of members from the
Okaloosa County Sheriff's Office; the Crestview Police Department; the
Niceville Police Department; and the US Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA).
