A man accused of holding his estranged wife at gunpoint has been arrested after a three-hour standoff in Crestview today (Tuesday).

Charged with Aggravated Assault, Felony Battery, and False Imprisonment is Jason O'Dell Sugarman, age 31 (7-14-1973), of Pensacola.

Sugarman voluntarily surrendered to Okaloosa County Sheriff's Deputies at 2801 Pinnacle Point Drive, Crestview, the residence of his estranged wife.

Lawmen were notified of the incident a few minutes before 8:00 o'clock this morning (Tuesday morning) when Lisa Sugarman reported she had just escaped from her gun-wielding husband. She later told Deputies he had entered her house at approximately 4:30 AM, threatened her, and held her at gunpoint for approximately three hours. He eventually accompanied her to drop off their three year old son at day care, and their one year old son at a relative's house.

Lisa Sugarman summoned help as Jason Sugarman waited in the driveway. He left the area, returning to the Pinnacle Point Drive home, where he voluntarily surrendered himself approximately three hours later. Nobody was physically injured in the incident.
