The Okaloosa County Sheriff's Office is investigating a traffic crash in Mary Esther this morning (Thursday morning).
The crash happened at approximately 9:00 this morning. James David Hicks of Mary Esther, age 36 (05-01-68) and his six year old son James Hicks Jr., were traveling in a 1997 white Hino Hill-Rom delivery truck on U.S. Highway 98, east of Mary Esther Blvd. The Hicks vehicle rear-ended a 1985 International Mayflower moving truck driven by Jorge Cubillos of Niceville, age 48 (09-14-56). Mr. Cubillos was in the process of making a right hand turn when the crash occurred. James Hicks Jr. was seriously injured in the traffic crash and was transported by Life Flight to Sacred Heart Hospital in Pensacola where he is listed in guarded condition.
The investigation is pending and charges are possible.
