The Okaloosa County Sheriff's Office logged a record number of calls for service during the year 2000, with 133,042 incidents handled by Deputies. The call volume, averaging 363.5 per day, is a 39-percent increase from the 95,404 calls in 1999. A portion of the increase may be attributable to more complete documentation of activity by a new Computer-Aided Dispatch (CAD) system.
