The Okaloosa County Sheriff's Office logged a record number of calls for service during the year 2000, with 133,042 incidents handled by Deputies. The call volume, averaging 363.5 per day, is a 39-percent increase from the 95,404 calls in 1999. A portion of the increase may be attributable to more complete documentation of activity by a new Computer-Aided Dispatch (CAD) system.

Subpoena service..................................................... 3,783

Gasoline drive-offs.................................................. 2,995

Theft (not including shoplifting or vehicle theft)............... 2,830

Loud music/noise complaints.................................. 2,600

Assistance to other agencies................................... 2,474

Criminal mischief (vandalism)............................. 2,158

Domestic Violence & injunction violations........ 2,102

Security Checks (of homes & businesses)........... 1,918

Trespassing complaints...................................... 1,917
