Law enforcement agencies around the world will participate in the Annual Special Olympics Law Enforcement Torch Run in March and April. Each year over 3,000 law enforcement officers throughout the state of Florida join Special Olympics athletes to carry the torch on a 2,000 mile relay through more than 60 counties in Florida.
Members of the Okaloosa County Sheriff's Office, along with other local law enforcement agencies, will carry the torch on a 33 mile route through Okaloosa County from the Crestview Courthouse to Fort Walton Beach City Hall on Tuesday, April 2 beginning at 8:30 AM. Motorists may experience slight delays as runners stop at relay stations South on State Road 85.
Special Olympics Law Enforcement Torch Run t-shirts can be purchased by contacting your local law enforcement agency. All proceeds benefit the Florida Special Olympics.
