Friday the 13th has proven unlucky for two burglary suspects. Cory Christopher House (pictured left), age 20 (10-21-1982) and Justin Ryan Silverthorne (pictured right), age 19 (4-1-1983), both of Beachview Drive, Fort Walton Beach, were arrested shortly after 3:00 o'clock this morning (Friday morning) on charges of Attempted Burglary to an Occupied Dwelling.

An alert citizen, Michael Burgess of Niceville, called the Sheriff's Office after he confronted two individuals trying to gain entry into the garage of his Midland Court home. The suspects fled, but Burgess' detailed and accurate description of the would-be burglars and their pickup truck were instrumental in the arrest of Silverthorne and Burgess after a traffic stop about one hour later.

Additional charges are pending in connection with reports of approximately half a dozen burglaries of unlocked vehicles in the same area overnight. In those incidents, property reported stolen included car stereo equipment, CD's, cash, a radar detector, a Sunpass transponder, and other items.
