The Okaloosa County Sheriff's Office is investigating an Armed Robbery at a
clothing store in Destin today (Friday). A white man, apparently in his 20's, displayed a
small semi-automatic handgun and took cash from a clerk at "Ross Dress For Less," 4445
East Commons Drive, Destin, a few minutes after 9:30 this morning (Friday morning).
Nobody was injured in the holdup.
The robber was described as a white man in his 20's, with a long, pointed goatee, but otherwise clean-shaven. He appeared to have short strawberry blonde hair, but was wearing a blue baseball cap with an American flag on the front. He was also wearing a blue windbreaker and jeans, and carried a small blue duffel bag. He is believed to have left the store's parking lot westbound in a black or dark colored Toyota Camry or similar 4-door sedan. Witnesses believe the car is approximately a 1995 to 1998 model.
A security camera photograph of the robbery in progress may be viewed at the Okaloosa County Sheriff's Office web site at www.sheriff-okaloosa.org.
