he was struck by traffic in Destin early this morning (Wednesday morning). Deputy
Greg Porch was on foot, approaching a vehicle he had just stopped for speeding on
US Highway 98 at approximately 1:30 this morning (Wednesday morning) when he
was struck from behind. Deputy Porch, knocked to the ground by the impact, was
able to radio a description of the full-size pickup truck that continued eastbound on
Highway 98 from the vicinity of Sandprint Circle.
Deputy Tom Henry stopped the suspect vehicle less than two minutes later. The driver, Marshall Leroy Burroughs, age 47 (1-19-54), of Theodore, Alabama, has been charged with DUI and with leaving the scene of a crash involving personal injury.
