One man is dead, and another sought by the Okaloosa County Sheriff's Office after a midnight altercation in the parking lot of a Crestview lounge. Deputies were summoned to the Oasis Lounge at 892 West James Lee Boulevard (US Highway 90) at 12:30 this morning (Saturday morning), when witnesses reported one man bleeding to death from a slashed throat.

The victim is identified as Grover Gerald Long, age 33 (8-8-67), of 3126 Holley Drive, Crestview.

According to an investigation conducted by the Okaloosa County Sheriff's Office, Long and another man, identified as Lonnie Ray Ward, age 35, were involved in an argument outside the nightclub when a third man entered the dispute and pulled a knife. That individual slashed Long's throat and fled from the scene.

 The suspect is Lonnie Josh Smith, age 42 (12-18-58), a construction worker who lists the Oak Garden Apartments in Crestview as his residence. Smith is five-foot-eight, 145 pounds, with shoulder length straight dark brown hair, brown eyes, a dark mustache, and heavy dark eyebrows.
