The Okaloosa County Sheriff's Office is investigating an Armed Robbery at McDonald's Hamburgers, 440 Mary Esther Boulevard, early this morning (Friday morning).

The robber struck before the business was open for the day, smashing a glass door to gain entrance to the locked restaurant just prior to 5:30 this morning (Friday morning). The robber was inside the building less than three minutes, displaying a small silver-colored semi-automatic handgun, and fleeing on foot with cash. He is believed to have run through a portion of the Hurlburt Arms apartment complex behind the restaurant toward Anchors Street in the Fort Walton Beach Industrial Park. Four employees were present at the time the robber entered; nobody was injured.

The robber was described as a slender black man, apparently in his 20's. He was about five-foot-ten to six feet tall, 140 to 150 pounds. He was wearing navy blue sweat pants, a medium blue long-sleeve shirt, a blue pullover sweatshirt with a hood, and white shoes.

Anybody with information about the identity of the robber or any other information that may be useful in the investigation should contact the Okaloosa County Sheriff's Office at 651-7400 or Emerald Coast Crime Stoppers at 863-TIPS (863-8477), or toll-free at 1-8880-654-TIPS.
