A Destin man faces three felony charges after firing shots at a taxicab last night (Tuesday night). Robert Taylor "RT" Hardeman, Jr., age 45 (6-28-55), was arrested at his 315 Summit Drive residence after a taxicab driver reported he had been shot at after dropping off a passenger.

Checker Cab driver Daren Garner stated he picked up Hardeman and a woman at a Destin restaurant at approximately 9:30 last night. After arrival at the Summit Drive address, the two passengers engaged in an argument in the back seat lasting an estimated ten minutes or longer, after which Hardeman exited the cab and slammed the door. He is reported to have walked to the side of the residence and returned almost immediately with a small handgun, pointing it at the cab driver.

Garner stated he ducked under the dashboard and heard three shots as he drove away. Nobody was injured in the incident. The identity of the woman passenger, who ran from the scene, was not immediately determined.

Hardeman was charged with Shooting into an Occupied Dwelling or Vehicle, Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon, and Possession of a Firearm while under the Influence of alcohol. He remains held without bond in the Okaloosa County Jail.
