A suspect in the October 1 robbery of the SouthTrust Bank in Destin is in custody in Georgia.
Zachary Paul Hannasch, age 20 (8-14-1982), of Atlanta, was identified as the suspect in the Destin case after an investigation by the Okaloosa County Sheriff's Office and the FBI linked that robbery to several other bank robberies in Georgia.
An Okaloosa County Warrant naming Hannasch was signed yesterday (Thursday). Hannasch, meanwhile, had already been taken into custody in Clarke County, Georgia, after being stopped for a traffic violation. He is also named as a suspect in at least four bank holdups in Georgia.
The noon-time robbery of the SouthTrust Bank, 34877 Emerald Coast Parkway, Destin, on October 1, netted the robber less than $1,000. No weapon was displayed during the incident.
