Two arrests in Okaloosa County are related to a major multi-agency investigation into large-scale cocaine trafficking. The Okaloosa County Sheriff's Office has been participating in the investigation for approximately one and one half years, along with the Escambia County Sheriff's Office, The Pensacola Police Department, and the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA).

Taken into custody during execution of a Federal Search Warrant on February 22 were Terrence Maurice Roberts, age 24 (9-23-77), of 220-A Cypress Street, NW, Fort Walton Beach; and Shaun Pascquel Thomas, age 34 (2-23-68), of Elk Grove, California. Both had been named in Federal Indictments on charges of Trafficking in Cocaine.

The multi-jurisdictional investigation tracked a smuggling operation that was believed to have been bringing more than five kilograms of cocaine into the Florida panhandle per month from the Houston, Texas, and San Jose, California areas.

Roberts and Thomas are among 17 defendants named in Federal Indictments as a result of the investigation. During the investigation, more than four kilos of cocaine and crack cocaine were seized, along with approximately $80,000 cash, as agents served Search Warrants on nine occasions. More than half of the cocaine and approximately $18,000 cash were seized last Friday (February 22) at Roberts' residence in the Sylvania Heights neighborhood of south Okaloosa County.
