The Okaloosa County Sheriff's Office is clearing at least nine burglary cases with the arrest of a suspect in Crestview. Charged with two counts of Burglary, two counts of Grand Theft, one count of Criminal Mischief, plus several additional counts pending, is Brian Ray Chapman, age 27 (12-27-73), of 2957 Sholtz Avenue, Crestview.

Cases being cleared include two residential break-ins on Sholtz Avenue, plus seven vehicle burglaries on Sholtz Avenue, McCarty Avenue, and Stillwell Road. The vehicles had been unlocked; entry to the houses had been made by smashing windows or doors. All of the incidents had occurred since September 19.

Almost all of the stolen property, totaling more than $7,000 worth of CD's, DVD's, video cameras and other electric equipment, jewelry, and other items, has been recovered and is being returned to the victims.

Chapman was arrested yesterday (Tuesday) afternoon in Crestview. The investigation is being conducted by Investigator Ralph Garrett of the Okaloosa County Sheriff's Office.
