The man found dead inside a car in the Wright area of south Okaloosa County last week has been identified as Jack Harold Brown, age 55 (9-24-45). Brown's identity has been confirmed though a 30 year old fingerprint card from an arrest in his hometown of Hampton, Virginia. An investigation by the Okaloosa County Sheriff's Office developed a possible identification, and authorities in Virginia were able to provide fingerprints from a 1971 arrest to confirm the identity.

The investigation began last Thursday afternoon, June 7, when a resident of LBJ Sr. Drive reported a man apparently passed out in the back seat of a car.

Autopsy results are not yet complete, and at this time there is no indication of foul play in the death. Brown's place of residence and recent activities, however, remain unknown, and investigators would like to talk to anybody who may have known Brown in recent weeks or months.

Anybody who may be able to assist should contact the Okaloosa County Sheriff's Office Bureau of Investigations at (850) 609-2000.
