N E W S   R E L E A S E

The Okaloosa County Sheriff's Office is investigating two burglaries, which took place on October 9, 2003. Both burglaries occurred in the early morning hours. The first burglary took place early morning at the Animal Kingdom Pet Store in Fort Walton Beach located at 737-D N. Beal Parkway. The second burglary, which took place shortly thereafter, occurred at Pet Land Pet Store located at 415 Mary Esther Cutoff Suite G. A witness, who was walking his dog at the time, reported the burglary. The witness identified on of the two suspects as a tall, young, black male with a thin build dressed in bulky clothing. A similar burglary was also reported in Walton County at about the same time. All three burglaries resulted in the theft of exotic animals. The cases remain under investigation.
