The Okaloosa County Sheriff's Office is investigating a Bank Robbery this afternoon (Thursday afternoon) in Crestview. The robber is described as a slender white male in his 30's with collar length blonde hair. He was wearing blue jeans, a black shirt bearing an image of a confederate flag, a dark cap, and white tennis shoes.

The robber entered the Vanguard Bank at 1139 Industrial Drive, Crestview, a few minutes before 1:00 o'clock this afternoon (Thursday afternoon) and displayed a hold-up note and a handgun to a teller. He took an undetermined amount of cash from one cash drawer.

Witnesses reported the robber fled in a 1990's model white Chevrolet Z-71 pickup truck, apparently accompanied by a black female passenger.

The robber dropped his handgun as he bumped into the lobby door making his exit from the bank. The gun apparently discharged at that time; several witnesses reported hearing a gunshot. Nobody was injured in the robbery, and it is not known what, if anything, was struck by the round. The gun was recovered at the scene.

Anybody with information about the case should contact the Okaloosa County Sheriff's Office at (8500 689-5705 or Emerald Coast Crime Stoppers at (850) 863-TIPS or toll-free at 1-888-654-TIPS.
