A Crestview area man facing felony warrants ran and hid from Okaloosa County Sheriff’s deputies throughout the day yesterday before ultimately turning himself in at the Okaloosa County Jail last night.
45-year old Michael Pechacek was then served warrants for domestic violence battery by strangulation and child abuse.
Deputies were called to his home around 8:30 Sunday morning. They found evidence Pechacek had put his hands around a child’s neck and pushed him to the ground, reportedly because a game room had not been properly cleaned.
Pechacek left out the back door and a search was quickly initiated throughout the area north of Crestview, near the end of Lake Silver Road.
He later turned up around 11:30 p.m. Sunday at the Okaloosa County Jail.
Additional charges are pending.
