THREE ARRESTED IN DESTIN ARMED ROBBERY

Three Shalimar men are charged with robbery with a firearm after planning and executing a plot to steal cash and belongings from three Ukraine residents who are in the area on work and student Visa's.

Those charged are: 19-year old Robert "Joey" Bailey and 24-year old Arsenio Perez Kelly, both of 45 6th Street, and 18-year old Davvin Mantrail Armstrong of 60 5th Street.

Investigators with the Okaloosa County Sheriff's Office say Kelly had befriended the three Ukranians. On May 20th, he picked them up from where they were staying at the Village Inn in Destin. Bailey was a passenger in the car. Kelly was to take the Ukranians to look at a possible summer rental house. He stopped for gas at the BP Station at 201 Harbor Boulevard and went inside. While there, another man got into the car with a handgun and demanded wallets and purses. Victims Olga Popik, Kateryna Bazhan, and Serghei Ochisan were robbed of $3000 in cash and other items.

During the course of the investigation, Sheriff's deputies learned that the whole incident had been pre-planned. Armstrong was the man who had executed the robbery,  with the knowledge and assistance of Kelly and Bailey.
