TEENS REMINDED TO STAY FOCUSED ON SAFETY
With high school graduation just around the corner, area teens are reminded to
avoid the dangers of reckless driving,
as well as drinking and driving, during prom week, graduation parties,
and upcoming celebrations.
Crestview High School's Prom takes place this Saturday, April 25th, at the Eglin
Officer's Club.
On Friday April 24th at about 1:00 p.m., the school's Resource Officers from the
Okaloosa County Sheriff's Office and others law enforcement agencies have
arranged to have the Florida Highway Patrol "Crash Dummies" on the corner of
Garden Street and Hwy. 85 in front of the high school. Trooper Ken Kelch of the
Florida Highway Patrol will be on hand as well as the Crestview Police
Department and Sheriff's Office. Anti-drunk driving signs will
be posted around campus.
School Resource Officer Greg Porch says, "We
just want to let the public know we are doing what we can at Crestview High
School to educate and encourage our students to be safe and make good decisions
/ choices in regards to their driving habits; especially during
Prom weekend."
