COMMUNICATIONS OFFICER NON-SWORN OCSO EMPLOYEE OF YEAR

      Michael Miller has been selected by the supervisory staff as the 2008 Non-Sworn Employee of the Year for his exceptional performance and contribution to the Okaloosa County Sheriff's Office. 

           Mike started his career with the Okaloosa County Sheriff's Office in October 2006, and works in the Communications Center.   Communication Officer.  He has shown confidence and poise under pressure on several occasions.  Most notable was his handling of Channel 1 on March 16, 2008, when Cpl. Mark Raiche was injured in a traffic crash.  Mike remained calm and provided information and assistance over the radio, as well as making phone calls as needed.  Mike handled this extremely stressful situation with professionalism and concern for all involved.  His demeanor was reassuring to those that were responding and/or already on scene.
