CONVENIENCE STORE ROBBERY
A man dressed in black and armed with a black
handgun robbed the S-Mart convenience store in Shalimar around 7 p.m. Wednesday
evening.
The
Okaloosa County Sheriff's Office is investigating the armed hold-up and is
asking anyone with information on the crime to contact the agency at
850-651-7400 or call Emerald Coast Crime Stoppers at 863-TIPS.
The
clerk says a black male, around 6' tall, entered the store at 85 4th Avenue in
Shalimar wearing black pants and a black sweater. His face was wrapped with a
black scarf and he was holding a handgun. He ordered the clerk to put money into
a bag. The clerk complied and the man then left the store on foot.
Sheriff's deputies and the Shalimar Police Department canvassed the area
immediately following the call. A K-9 unit tracked the suspect north on 8th
Street to 6th Street, then west on 6th to between 6th and 7th Avenue before
losing the scent.
