OCSO DEPUTY GRADUATES FROM FBI ACADEMY
Lt. Ron Gay
Okaloosa
County Sheriff's Office Lieutenant Ron Gay is one of the country's newest
graduates of the FBI National Academy. Lt. Gay is one of 256 members of law
enforcement, military, or federal civilian organizations to successfully
complete eleven weeks of advanced investigative, management, and fitness
training at Quantico Virginia.
Lt. Gay
began his career in law enforcement in 1979, as an Air Force Security Police
Officer. He has been in civilian law enforcement for the past 23 years, 22 years
of that with the OCSO.
Lt. Gay
says the intense academics will boost his ability to deal with complex law
enforcement management issues and to oversee his current responsibility for
Sheriff Charlie Morris as Inspector of the Office of Professional Standards and
Training.
"I was
most impressed with the quality and value of the coursework", said Lt. Gay.
"Another highlight for me is the enhanced networking I now have with fellow law
enforcement officers nationwide.
With this new wealth of contacts, we're already sharing additional ideas and
information. I think that will allow us to boost our contributions to our
agencies and communities."
