TWO IN CUSTODY IN DESTIN CONVENIENCE STORE ROBBERY

Ronald Franklin Virtz

Carcellous Ozis King

The Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office arrested two Destin men in connection with the early Sunday morning robbery of the Fill-Ups Food Store located at 201 Harbor Boulevard in Destin.

23-year old Carcellous Ozis King of 109 Marler Street, Unit F, in Destin has been charged with armed robbery and 38-year old Ronald Franklin Virtz of 109 Marler Street, Unit A, in Destin has been charged with principle to armed robbery.

At approximately 4:30 a.m. on March 3, Virtz entered the store and talked to the clerk and tried to sell her his necklace. Virtz then left the store and gave a “thumbs up” sign towards the corner of the building to let King know that there were no customers in the store. King then entered the store wearing a black hoodie and demanded money from the clerk at gunpoint.

Vitz said that King came to his location about a half an hour later and gave him $100 for helping him.
