EXTRA PATROLS ADDED TO OKALOOSA ROADS
Okaloosa County Sheriff Charlie Morris announces he is beefing up road
patrols in significant numbers over the holiday season. Many of the extra
deputies on duty will be in unmarked cars. They'll
not only be keying in on impaired drivers, but on thieves who target homes or
businesses.
In addition to the additional deputies on the roads, the Sheriff's
Posse members are adding to the workforce with stepped up patrols around
shopping areas.
Residents who notice any suspicious behavior are asked to contact law
enforcement immediately. In an emergency, dial 9-1-1 but otherwise the
Sheriff's Office numbers are 850-651-7400 and 850-689-5650.
If you have information that can help solve a crime and don't want to
give your name, you can also call Emerald Coast Crime Stoppers at 850-863-TIPS
and earn a cash reward of up to $1000.00.
The Sheriff's Office asks that everyone keep safety in mind during the
holidays. And remember to always have a designated driver if you're going out
on the town to parties or other events that could involve alcohol.
