Sheriff Charlie Morris is warning the public about a new email scam that is
being circulated under the title “Cost-of-Living for 2007 Update”.
Social Security’s Inspector General’s Office says the message redirects
readers to a phony website designed to look like Social Security’s Internet
website. Once there, the individual’s asked to register by giving out personal
information such as his or her Social Security number, bank account information,
and credit card information.
