OCSO SEARCHING FOR RAPE SUSPECT

The Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office is asking for the public’s help in trying to track down a rape suspect. The victim says she was raped before noon Sunday in a white, older-model Lincoln Town Car. It happened near the power line right-of-way on the south end of McClelland Street in Crestview. The victim, who is in her mid-thirties, went to a nearby home to report the attack.

She was treated at North Okaloosa Medical Center and released.

The woman says the man had agreed to give her a ride from the Tom Thumb Store near Robinson Street and State Road 85.

She describes the suspect as a black male between 25 and 30 years old.  He has a medium build and small teeth with a big space between his two front teeth. He was wearing a dark blue short-sleeved shirt and dark pants. The white Lincoln Town car he was driving has a tan, leather interior. A picture of a small boy hangs from the rear view mirror by a piece of yarn. The picture is mounted on a Mason jar lid.

The car’s Florida tag may begin with either JIP or J1P.

Anyone with information is asked to please contact the Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office at 850-651-7400 or 850-689-5705. You can also call Emerald Coast Crime Stoppers at 850-863-TIPS.
