Law
enforcement agencies throughout the state will participate in the Annual Special
Olympics Law Enforcement Torch Run in March and April.
Members of the Okaloosa County Sheriff's Office, along with other local
law enforcement agencies, will carry the torch on a 33 mile route through
Okaloosa County from the Crestview Courthouse to Fort Walton Beach City Hall on
Friday, April 1 beginning at 7:30 AM. Motorists may experience slight delays as
runners stop at relay stations South on State Road 85.
Special Olympics Torch Run t-shirts and hats can be purchased by
contacting Nicole Wagner at (850) 609-3028. All proceeds benefit the Florida
Special Olympics.
