The next Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office Womens’ Self Defense Seminar is scheduled for Monday, February 7.

The three-hour seminar is free of charge and open to women and girls age 12 and older. Participants under age 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

The session begins at 6:00 that evening, and includes home security and personal safety information and discussion, and hands-on demonstrations and practice of several simple self-defense techniques. Participants should wear comfortable, loose-fitting clothing and tennis shoes or similar flat-soled footwear. The program is not physically challenging, and nobody will be asked to exceed their own individual comfortable limits.

Instructors will be Martial Arts Masters James Cobb and Joe Cayer. The seminar will be hosted at the Martial Arts Academy, 42 Granett Avenue , across Eglin Parkway from K-Mart.
