The Okaloosa County Sheriff's Citizen Academy originally scheduled to begin on September 15, has been rescheduled. Classes will commence at 6:30 on Wednesday evening, September 29, at the Destin Community Center on Stahlman Avenue.

The program runs each Wednesday evening until December 1. Each week's session will feature a specific program or area of expertise in the field of Law Enforcement. Faculty for the academy will be members of the Okaloosa County Sheriff's Office.

The academy is free of charge, with space still available. For more information, contact Kathleen Larney, Crime Prevention Specialist, at (850) 609-2005.

The Okaloosa County Sheriff's Posse Charity Golf Tournament scheduled for Friday, September 24 has been rescheduled for October 8 at the Fort Walton Beach Municipal Course.
