The Okaloosa County Sheriff's Office continues investigating the death of a man whose body was found Monday (May 3) near the east end of Okaloosa Island. An autopsy has tentatively established the manner of death as suicide.
Investigators are in the process of confirming the individual's identity and are attempting to contact next of kin, who are believed to reside out of state.
The body was discovered by bird watchers in a wetlands area near the west end of the Destin Bridge Monday morning.
