An anonymous tip called in to Emerald Coast Crime Stoppers has resulted in a significant drug arrest.

Brentz Tyrone Holmes, age 35 (3-31-1969), of 326 Carmel Drive, lot # 37, Fort Walton Beach, was apprehended as he attempted to run from the scene of an undercover drug transaction near his residence late Wednesday night (April 14).

Holmes was identified as a suspected crack cocaine dealer during an investigation prompted by an anonymous tip to Emerald Coast Crime Stoppers last month. A confidential informant was used to purchase crack cocaine twice during the investigation. Holmes became suspicious during the second transaction and fled the scene. He was taken into custody by members of the Okaloosa County Multi-Agency Drug Task Force after a short pursuit on foot.

Holmes was arrested on charges of Trafficking in Crack Cocaine and Sale of Crack Cocaine. Approximately 59 grams of crack cocaine with a street value of almost $6,000 was discovered during a search of Holmes' residence.
