A suspect has been arrested in connection with last night's (Thursday night's) bank robbery in Fort Walton Beach. Ken Michael Trocha, age 34 (9-20-1968), of Fort Walton Beach, was apprehended shortly after 8:00 o'clock this morning (Friday morning) in an alleyway off Racetrack Road. A citizen who had heard media reports of the description of the suspect vehicle as an older model green Dodge, called the Okaloosa County Sheriff's Office to report the location of such a vehicle.

Witnesses who provided detailed descriptions of the suspect and his vehicle, including a partial license tag number, and interior and parking lot security camera photographs were instrumental in the investigation. Investigators worked through the night, developed Trocha as a suspect, and obtained a signed warrant naming him on one count of Robbery.

The robbery was reported a 6:47 Thursday night, at the Destin Bank branch inside Albertson's Supermarket, 610 N. Eglin Parkway, Fort Walton Beach. The robber fled with more than $1,000 cash after passing a note that contained a threat to shoot the teller. No weapon was displayed, and nobody was injured in the incident.
