The identity of last weekend's drowning victim has been confirmed as Edward W. Kaiser, age 60 (10-10-1942), originally from Connecticut. Notification of next of kin in Connecticut was accomplished this morning (Wednesday).
Kaiser's death has been ruled an accidental drowning by the Medical Examiner's Office.
Kaiser's body was pulled from the Gulf of Mexico last Saturday (April 26), by beach-goers at Henderson State Park in Destin. He apparently encountered trouble while swimming alone in rough "red-flag" conditions.
Kaiser apparently had been in the local area several weeks, but did not have a stable address. His last listed residential address was in February, in the Polk County city of Hudson, north of St. Petersburg.
