Two major Cocaine arrests are the result of a co-operative effort of the Okaloosa County Multi-Agency Drug Task Force, the Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE), and the Walton County Sheriff's Office.

John Michael Barrett, age 31 (4-19-1972), of Indian Trail, Destin was arrested at a residence in the Miramar Beach area of south Walton County last evening (Thursday evening), in the process of purchasing approximately one half kilo of powder cocaine.

A co-defendant, Greg Dwayne Holland, age 27 (8-5-1976), of Antilles Cove, Destin, was arrested later in the evening after his involvement was determined. Holland had provided transportation for Barrett, and was waiting nearby to pick him after he had possession of the cocaine.

Barrett is charged with Trafficking in Cocaine; both Barrett and Holland are charged with Conspiracy to Traffic in Cocaine.

More than $7,000 cash and 1998 Toyota Land Cruiser were seized with the arrests of Barrett and Holland.

The investigation is continuing, and more arrests are possible.
