Screen Cut in Laurel Hill

ARREST REPORTS

Deputies with the Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office nabbed three teens early this morning who indicated they had planned to stab, punch, and if needed kill someone, in order to steal jewelry and money during a burglary.

An elderly resident on Miller Street in Laurel Hill awoke to noises near his back door shortly before one a.m. this morning and saw three people running away as his dogs chased them. OCSO deputies canvassed the area and developed three teenage suspects – two juveniles and an adult.

15-year old Daniel Jackson, 16-year old Jacob Parker, and 19-year old Anthony King have now been charged with armed burglary of an occupied dwelling and possession of burglary tools.

Deputies say the trio entered the victim’s screened-in pool and patio area, using a knife to cut a screen. They fled the scene when the homeowner became aware of their presence and armed himself in defense. Deputies recovered the knife from their escape route. They say during the planning stages, the three defendants agreed to punch, stab, and/or kill the occupants to carry out the crime and that Jackson was armed with the knife used to cut the screen.

King was booked into the Okaloosa County jail in Crestview. The juveniles were detained by the Department of Juvenile Justice.
