Thieves smashed the front glass door of a fast food restaurant in Mary Esther Sunday before making away with the store safe. The Subway at 421 Mary Esther Boulevard, Suite 2, was burglarized around 4 a.m. yesterday. An employee who arrived at work around 8 a.m. found the glass in the front door broken out. A deputy arrived to be sure the building was clear before anyone entered and to search for leads. A manager discovered the restaurant’s safe had been stolen. An investigation is underway and anyone with information on the break-in is asked to contact the Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office at 850-651-7400 or Emerald Coast Crime Stoppers at 863-TIPS.
