ARREST REPORT

A sixteen year old Destin youth is charged with felony aggravated battery and misdemeanor battery following a fight over his refusal to stop playing video games.

The Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office arrested the teen yesterday evening at his home. He told deputies he and his mother got into an argument when he refused to stop a multiplayer video game and talk to her. She threatened to smash his game console with a golf club. He grabbed the club and began pushing her with it.

When his step-father intervened, the teen began striking him multiple times until the golf club eventually broke in half. He then tried to stab his step-father with the broken end but “it didn’t work”. The father drove himself to a medical facility for treatment.

The teen is charged with domestic violence battery on his mother and felony domestic-violence related aggravated battery on his step-father.

He was transported to a Department of Juvenile Justice facility.
