ARREST REPORTS

A Shalimar man trying to flee Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office deputies nearly hit a patrol car before eventually crashing Thursday night. He now faces multiple felony charges. Two passengers were arrested as well.

The deputies had spotted suspicious activity at the parking lot of a Beal Parkway convenience store around 6:30 p.m. and attempted to make contact with the individuals. The driver of the car, later identified as 28-year old Keenan Boggan of 130 7th Avenue in Shalimar, sped off and was traveling more than 75 miles an hour when he failed to negotiate a turn on Cloverdale Boulevard, struck a light pole and bushes, and then tried to run from the crash scene.

Deputies say Boggan had several active warrants and is a habitual traffic offender. An OCSO K9 tracked Boggan to the back patio area of a nearby home. He was found to be bleeding from previous injuries connected to being shot in Crestview several weeks ago. Boggan was transported to Fort Walton Beach Medical Center for treatment. Once released he will be taken to the Okaloosa County Jail on charges including aggravated fleeing and eluding, resisting arrest without violence, possession of a controlled substance with intent to distribute, and several active warrants. Inside his pants pocket deputies found nearly $500 and narcotics.

The back seat passenger, 23-year old Stephen Cordova of Crestview, was out of jail on a violation of probation warrant. He also ran from the car and was found hiding under a bush at a nearby house. He is charged with resisting arrest without violence.

The front passenger of the car, 30-year old Patrice Powell of Fort Walton Beach, remained with the vehicle. She was arrested on an outstanding warrant for violating probation on original charges of home invasion robbery, impersonating a law enforcement officer, and grand theft. Inside the wrecked car deputies found digital scales with cocaine residue and six cell phones.
